Botanical Inspiration: Signs Of Autumn
Walking around the neighborhood this past weekend, I came across some turkey feathers (which I foraged, of course) and some Pyracantha shrubs (that I obviously 'pruned'). Once home, I placed them together in a vase with some late blooming roses. The pale pink petals along with the rusty tones of the berries brought the new season indoors. Take a look:
Are you noticing the signs of autumn where you live?
Botanical Inspiration: A Maine Garden
Today's botanical inspiration comes from a dear friend's garden in Maine. Nestled on the coast and engulfed in salty ocean air the garden is overflowing with lavender, spirea and various foliage plants and shrubs. Before leaving I couldn't resist creating an arrangement for our hosts. Take a look:
Thank you EVB and DVB for sharing your beautiful summer home and garden with us.
Botanical Inspiration: Cocoon Home Trunk Show
Vertical gardens, tin planters, basket arrangements and assorted seed pods were all up for grabs at Cocoon Home's first botanical trunk show last week. With live music, wine, cheese and a great group of people, the evening represented a great combination of art, business and pleasure.
Many thanks to everyone who attended and for the continued support and encouragement. If you couldn't make it, remember that you can special order any botanical composition for your home or garden.

Match Maker: Random Rooms And Their Perfect Botanical Matches.
Botanical placement is as important as the layout of a space. The shape, size and color of a vessel, as well as the type of plants selected for it, are an important extension of one's style. Recently on Pinterest, I noticed that most of the room inspirations I pinned coordinated with botanical images previously tagged. Take a look at a few of my favorite matches:
